First the clothes, then the fragrances, and now the makeup. The word is Marc Jacobs will shortly be putting his name on a color cosmetics set that will find the designer breaking new ground for his memorable brand.
Tuesday WWD reported that Jacobs will be hooking up with cosmetics retailer Sephora for the new line. “I see makeup, fragrance—everything, actually—as an opportunity,” he said. ” For your lip the idea of choosing a color, or an eyeliner—it’s just such a delight. The ritual of waking up and making these choices is something public really enjoy.”
Jacobs won’t be the first designer to initiate a cosmetics collection. Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabanna and Giorgio Armani the entire currently have makeup lines while numerous other designers have partnered with companies like MAC or OPI and Zoya to create special collections.
As Jacobs’ collaboration with Sephora has only just begun there’s no word yet on when we can expect to see the products in stores. Right now we can only speculate on what’s to come, but based on Jacobs’ thoughts on fashion, we can’t wait to perceive what he comes up with: “It’s not necessary, it’s something you want—it’s a fancy and a whim.”
